Well, a friend of mine was kind enough to scan something for me (nevermind that he stole my sketchbook in order to do it, but that's what friends are for, right?) so I thought I might as well post it while its still on my computer.
In any case, Jyuu not know how to color. Jyuu bad at inking too. So pic is pencil sketch only for now. Mm... enjoy! ^_^;;

Wow! I can tell that I'm among some serious artists here. I think it looks really good Jyuu-chan, great job!

That's really groovy, Jyuu-chan. Tell your friend to keep stealing your sketchbook.
I like the line weight, or how each line varies from thin to thick. It helps with depth and weight on the figure. I've got six drawing classes under my belt and I still haven't gotten the hang of that.
D'oh, looks like I might have accidentally learned something in class.
And if you want to learn watercolor (over the internet?) I'll always be around.

Thanks much Mousey and BlueElfEars! Comments like that are what keep me drawing (sporadically anyway). http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
BlueElfEars - That'd be great. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Although I suppose I should pick up some watercolors if I intend to learn how to use them...

(Who needs to relearn shading too. Bah.)

Watercolor can get pretty expensive if you want to do it right. You have to buy special paper, brushes, and, of course, the actual watercolors. You also need to be willing to put up with some failed or sub-par work before you get the hang of it. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif
That said, if you still feel like learning, I could always help you get started. Give me an e-mail and I'll try to teach you. (That goes for anyone out there who wants to learn) You just have alert me to the e-mail in here because I don't always check my mail.
Jyuu-chan, here's a shading hint. Imagine where you want the light to be coming from. Draw an arrow on your paper pointing from the light source to your object. This will show you where the brightest light areas will be AND where the darkest shadows will be. For example, if you wanted the light source to be directly above your character, then his nose, brow, ears, and top of his head would be bright. Underneath his bangs, his nose, his jaw, and in his eye sockets would be dark. It's also a good idea to observe other people and see where and how dark the shadows appear in different lightings.
Whew, I got carried away. I'm sure you know most of this stuff and I hope I didn't offend you by saying it, but sometimes it helps to have other people point things out. It reminds you of what you already know.

Hi, closet (well, not really) Nightcrawler fan here.
I've been keeping an eye on this board for a while, but haven't come up with anything to post yet.
Figgered I'd try posting some fuzzy elf Fanart as a first posting.
Now, I only have access to nbci.com (used to be xoom) webspace and from my experience it seems to be hard to make links to nbci work properly.
Alright, here goes nothing:

If this doesn't work..could a kind person try and help me out?
